Description

Boards Direct Cork Rolls
Width of rolls: 1000mm
Create whole walls of cork pinboard using our cork board rolls!
The cork is available in either 6mm or 10mm thickness, and is made from high quality close grain natural cork material. This enables large areas of pinnable noticeboard, with no visible joins to be created with ease.

We also strongly recommend our adhesive (please order separately) to bond the cork directly onto your wall, or onto plywood backing which can then be fixed to the wall but can later be removed. The adhesive is specially formulated for use with cork and prevents ‘shrinkage’.

A cork wall covering has many benefits. As well as offering a pinnable surface, cork also has sound reducing and heat insulating properties, as well as natural water repellency. Cork gives a very natural ambiance to a room and is also effective even if it is fitted to only one wall. Cork can be so effective in absorbing sound that some recording studios use cork on their walls.

The cork can be painted (we recommend using a 3:1 water/emulsion solution) and can even be wallpapered over.

Fire Retardancy. Although natural cork does not have official certification for fire retardancy, thanks to the thermal and weak combustion properties of cork, cork oaks are more fire-resistant than other trees. The slow combustion of cork makes it naturally fire retardant, forming a barrier against fires. Its combustion does not release smoke or toxic gases.  Alternatively, there are many fire proof varnishes on the market that can be used with our cork board rolls to solve this problem.

Eco-Friendliness. The cork oak tree is most commonly grown on the Iberian peninsula, and in fact Portugal has about 34 percent of global cork forests, and Spain has about 27 percent. Cork is considered to be a renewable or sustainable material because the harvesting of cork doesn’t require the cutting down of any trees; instead, the trees grow until they’re about 25 years old (when their trunks are wide enough, at about 24 inches), and then the cork is stripped from the tree trunks every nine years

Our cork rolls measure 1000mm wide, are available in 6mm or 10mm thicknesses and 2, 5  or 10 metre roll lengths

Other thicknesses and lengths are available to order.

We shall not be responsible for loss arising from delay or failure to deliver arising from causes beyond our control.

Deliveries are to ground floor only. If you have any special requests please ensure you mention these in the order comments. Please note any requests may incur an additional charge
